Aircraft engineering course through Star Aviation Academy

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is one of the most interesting branches in science, which gives you a sense of achievement and a feeling of pride being technologically knowledgeable. All sophisticated aircrafts are maintained and certified by AME’s. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are that group of people who are highly trained, sought after and highly paid. This profession gives not only prestige but also satisfaction at each step. The aviation industry is growing at a very high speed. So with each aircraft becoming operational, several technical posts are created. Statistically proven one operational aircraft leads to the creation of at least 28 jobs. And once the aircraft is operated by an airline, job creation is even higher. But there is a wide gap in supply and demand of a properly trained and qualified workforce, leading to high salaries and almost zero unemployment. Therefore, it's very important for one to choose the right school to join the training.

Star Aviation Academy (SAA) is one the leading Institute for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Mechanical and Avionics Stream) and offers the best aviation course in India, and the training at SAA meets International standards by norms set down by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).  SAA facilities meet all regulatory requirements of advanced training facilities, methodology and quality of aircraft maintenance course in India. It is the first Institute which offers aviation courses in India that are approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, to offer a two-year Aircraft Maintenance Course in the Category  Aeroplane Turbine) and Category Avionics. It is a matter of pride that all its students are employed in domestic and international airlines. The college takes the quality of education and training imparted to our students very seriously, which is also ensured by the faculty and management constantly work to ensure quality training. The main goal of any institute is to train our students to be employable at the end of the Course, and the SAA fulfils that criteria.

To impart more of practical training to its students SAA has contractual understanding with Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) at Air India maintenance facilities at IGI Airport New Delhi where all the students are sent to AIESL for one month every year for quality practical training on operational aircraft under direct supervision of qualified persons from AIESL. Where the ability of an AME student to be able to get a job upon passing out from school depends upon the specific module examinations, he has passed during the course and at SAA quality of training ensures that the students outshine the DGCA Module examinations consistently. So, ever since the first batch appeared in DGCA examinations at least one of the All India topper has been from Star Aviation, and the students have given best results in AME licence examinations. The SAA students receive very positive response in the aviation industries and have gained prestigious positions in the leading airline, and so the institute has an enviable placement record. The students have been selected in prestigious Boeing-Air India Scholarship examinations. So, we can conclude that Star Aviation Academy is the most appropriate school that offers aircraft maintenance course and Aviation courses in India.

The Eligibility Criterion to Seek Admission in Aeronautical Engineering

Aeronautical engineering or AME is looked upon as one of the most preferred career choices that youth of this generation are interested in. Though the aviation sector is highly challenging but it cannot be denied that it possess vast scopes for development in future.

Aerospace or aeronautical engineering is hitched to the development of new technologies in the arena of space exploration, aviation industry and defence systems. Looking into details, it can be said that Aeronautical engineering involves a comprehensive array of some aspects like designing, development and construction, testing as well as maintenance of military and commercial aircrafts along with various types of satellites, missiles and spacecrafts.

In short, it can be said that aerospace engineering is a perfect combination of skilfully designing and constructing various high end technologies. It is looked upon as a reliable career choice for candidates who have interest in aerodynamics.

Eligibility criteria for admission to Aeronautical Engineering

The eligibility criteria for Aeronautical Engineering admission are discussed as follow:

  • The candidate needs to hail from the science background in his/her +2 level. The subjects taken in concern are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the minimum marks to be obtained is 60% and above.
  • If you possess this qualification, you can easily apply for any of the colleges offering course in aeronautical engineering but for admission to NITs and IITs, it is a must to qualify Joint Entrance Examination which is held once in a year between the months of April and May.
  • While there are some other institutions also which rely upon your JEE score for admission to aeronautical engineering, some also require the prospective applicants to qualify their entrance exam. There are also some other state and national level exams that offer admission to AME.

The duration for B.E. and B.Tech course is about 4 years whereas for the dual degree the time span is 5 years. Other degree and courses equivalent to the B.Tech program are also carried out by the Aeronautical Society of India.

This is classified into two halves:

  • Part A consists of ten papers in total and a student with science background (along with PCM as the core subjects) in +2 level with 50% marks is eligible for taking this examination.
  • Part B consists of three specialist streams and only those who manage to clear part A are eligible for taking this examination. Also a candidate from any other engineering branch can appear for part B directly. However they need to qualify the subject named as “Principles of Flight” from Part A.

Marks allotted to every subject are 100 while the pass marks is 50 in each. This examination is organized twice in a year i.e. in June & December respectively at various centres. Candidates who successfully manage to clear the test enjoy the designation as the Associate Member of the Aeronautical Society of India. This is equivalent to the B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering. To pursue a post-graduation degree in this field, candidates need to take the GATE examination.
